Putting Charity in Perspective and Working with Jacksonville Non-Profit Angelwood
Blessings----this Christmas season J P Perry chose to do our annual holiday project with
Angelwood, Inc. they are a non-profit customer of ours that works with children and young adults with disabilities. We collected household cleaning items and money to buy other supplies for their group home and offices. It did not seem as glamorous as the toys that had been wrapped in colorful paper for other projects in past years. However, I don’t recall ever getting the outpouring of gratitude from gifts of toys that we received from the folks at Angelwood over common everyday supplies that most of us would not consider gift worthy!

Then at a recent Rotary meeting we were reminded that it has been one year since the earthquake in Haiti and 800,000 people are still living in tents, crime and abuse is rampant and Cholera epidemics kill thousands more. So, when the economy is a little sour and we feel overwhelmed with all the things that are not going according to plan in our lives, a little perspective regarding where we fit on the suffering scale would probably be a healthy thing. Both, for us and for those that we might find some small way to help!
